On Sunday, November 5th, 2006, “Maya Talk” made it’s debut on NBC 25 in Hagerstown at 12:30 pm. This really was the fulfillment of my dream. I wanted to create a talk show for ordinary people to get usable information that would affect their daily lives in some positive way. My goal was to simply make people smile, and if they happened to take away a little bit more than they started with….then that was a bonus!!!!
The show’s second season marked the beginning of “Maya Talk’s” partnership with The Frederick Arts Council in Maryland. This partnership provided a home for the “Maya Talk” studio, on its own custom-designed set. Additionally, the season two guest list expanded beyond “local” interview segments, to include nationally recognized guests such as former NAACP President & CEO, Kweisi Mfume.
During season two, Maya Talk, LLC, a division of BS Environmental, Inc. (BSE) was formed. BSE has provided Maya Talk, LLC with many opportunities, including its 8a, and MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) designation.
Season 3 began January 2008 and really began to grow with new sponsors, a new producer and a broader range of guests. Maya Talk, LLC also began to take off, beginning to do more in the community aside from just the television show. Teaming up with LIFE & Discovery, Maya Talk, LLC has been able to organize and participate in such events as “The Native American Meet & Greet” in December of 2008, collecting gift bags for the homeless, creation and distribution of a tri-monthly newsletter, and the creation and hosting of the annual “Circle of 100 Women” event that took place in June of 2009.
Along with local community work, Maya Talk, LLC is producing a program “BaltiMORE to Offer” in Baltimore City for the Mayor’s Office of Cable and Communications. Other programs are currently under development.
As of December, 2008, Maya Talk, LLC became the “official” media and communications arm of BS Environmental. “Native Network Productions, LLC, provides a full range of capabilities to include full media/communications as well as a full compliment of video/film production and a full range of web based capabilities.
As Maya Talk, LLC continues to evolve, its partners, clients , and the general public can count on the very best that we have to offer, whether it be in the form of a TV talk show, an innovative website, or an “out-of-the-box” marketing strategy.
